Tumble Books

I don't know about you, but there was nothing more I loved, than to be read to as a child.  The same goes for the children in my class. We have had a lot of fun with some great author studies. I think that their favorite is Eric Carle so far.
Anyway, I found a neat website that allows you to choose a favorite story on line and have the author of the story read it to you.  There is nothing like a good Robert Munsch story read to you by the man himself! This is a great  activity to do on the smart board!

  1. It is always so powerful to hear authors read their own material isn't it. Your comment about the Smartboard caught my eye. Beyond projecting the images for the class, how would you make use of the Smartboard to enhance the activity?

  2. I love how you use technology to enhance childrens' love of what is considered a very traditional (anti-tech) activity: reading! Brilliant.

  3. I think I will have to check out the site and get Robert Munsch to read, "Thomas' Snowsuit" to me on the chilly end of May morning. I too love the vision of your young learners reading along as they see and hear the authors telling the stories. Wonderful image Terri-Lynn.

  4. Very neat Terri-Lynn! I saw this site before and wished that our school division would pay for the licenses for our libraries. It would be well worth it!
